Window of Time

What is the Window of Time Project?
The Window of Time project offers people struggling with drug and alcohol dependency the opportunity to be part of a supportive and positive project which encourages men and women to live life to the full, and reach their potential— emotionally, spiritually and physically.

The Window of Time team is made up of staff members and also volunteers from local churches. The staff team consists of a counsellor, support workers, outdoor activity instructors and staff who themselves have lived with drug and alcohol dependency issues in the past.

What happens on the Project?

The project runs 5 days a week.
Each Tuesday we run a drop-in at Hawick Youth

At the Drop-in we seek to provide a healthy, life changing environment for individuals. The Drop-in has a very relaxed atmosphere. and provides a safe and supportive environment for those who attend. There are opportunities to talk to others who have been able to overcome their own addictions and hear their stories. Individuals are
encouraged to participate in meaningful activities through out the day. Craft making as well as a variety of sports ie football, badminton, archery and volleyball which is held in the sports hall for the more energetic.
We have a pool table and offer free hot and cold drinks and provide a free tasty meal at lunch time. After lunch there is a discussion group for those who are wishing to discuss issues of faith and the bigger questions of life.
Attendees are welcome to be part of all the activities on offer or just to come and relax and be part of a supportive group.

Each Wednesday we encourage the attendees from the drop-in to join us for adventurous outdoor activities which help promote an active lifestyle. These include hill walking, canoeing, kayaking, archery, mountain biking etc. These activities are led by our qualified outdoor instructors and gives opportunities to improve physical fitness, builds trust, raises self esteem and confidence.
