Refresh weekend Nov 2009
Refresh just had a great weekend lead by Pete Gilbert, speaking on the Gifts og the Holy Spirit.
It was great to see so many people exploring the Gifts God has given them, in a practical way.
Thanks Pete.

Stepping Stones
It was amazing to meet back with the stepping stones families on Monday! We had a great time thanking God for Babies and having a go at making our own sock dolls! It was fantastic to have a time of prayer with the little ones where we prayed for people we know who have babies and also expectant mums.
Please continue to pray for this group - for each child who comes along and for each mum or carer - that they may get to know Jesus and accept Him as their Lord and saviour
:-)

Boulder Gang/Rock Solid Crew
Boulder Gang and Rock Solid Crew began again last week! The theme was music and how god created and uses music to speak to us and so we can deepen our relationship with him. We had an amazing time using music to learn our memory verse. We played "Don't forget the Lyrics" and had lots of noisy messy fun as usual! It was great to see all the kids back again and 2 new little ones at Boulder Gang! It was also amazing to have Mary back with us - even though she was in quite a lot of pain as she waits for her operation..please continue to pray for her!
FANTASTIC NEWS>>>>> We have been invited to go in to the primary school tomorrow (21st May) to share what we do at Boulder Gang with the Primary 1,2 and 3's! This is such an amazing opportunity and we feel really blessed and honoured to have been invited! Our theme will be Jesus greater than any superhero and we hope to have a great time with the children and perhaps encourage them to come along to Boulder Gang to fine our more about the God who loves them!
Please continue to pray for each child who comes along and for the team - Julie, Ste and Mary! XX

Deeper/ Even Deeper
Deeper
Deeper had finished for a couple of weeks over easter holidays which didnt go down well with the young people as they wanted it on over the hols! We have been talking about why we should read our bibles and self control, numbers are up to 12 with some regulars missing. Deeper leaders have been planning the next 6 weeks of subjects etc. Lighter nights mean we can go out in the garden and do games outside!
Even Deeper
For the past month Even Deeper has been very low on numbers we have had noone coming, but i think its down to light nights and other commitments.

Boulder Gang/Rock Solid Crew
Boulder Gang and Rock Solid Crew restarts Thursday 14th May!
The last block finished on 12the March and it was really encouraging to see steady numbers of young people coming along each week and some new ones too! We used material from Energize which focussed on themes like friends, family, worry, anger, and love. We used some crafts and did some creative prayer which the children engaged with really well. After the block finished we held a DVD evening which was a massive success with both groups together. We watched "Open Season 2" on the big screen in the No8 and enjoyed hotdogs and popcorn! Great Fun! Can't wait till the next one... The following week we decided to meet altogether again with both groups and had a games evening and prize bingo! Again this was brilliant fun and definitely something we will repeat! We feel as a team its just as valuable to have informal fun times being church together, particularly when we can be together as a whole kids church as it is running specific groups. Please continue to pray for this work and each young person who comes along and also for their families. Please also pray for the team - for Julie and Ste as they seek Gods will for the way forward with kids church in Newcastleton, for wisdom and that they use their time wisely. Please also pray for Mary as she waits to go into hospital for an operation on her gallbladder.

Stepping Stones
Stepping Stones restarts Monday 18th May! Our last block went really well. After the normal 6 weeks had finished we had an informal drop in week where the Stepping Stones team met with the mums and children and had coffee and cakes. It was a great way to maintain and develop the relationships being built between the grafted team and the families that come along. It was great to see so many there! The week after we had planned to have a picnic lunch together but due to wet weather we had an indoor picnic in the No8 club. Again it was great to see a large number there and we had a lovely time chatting with the mums and children. Our Easter Eggstravaganza took place on Monday 6th April where we took part in lots of easter crafts, made easter egg nest cakes and had an egg hunt! With help from Mario our puppet we told the easter story and were really encouraged that most of the mums came into hear it!
Sadly, Mary, our key volunteer has been in hospital with gallstones and inflamation of the gallbladder so has been out of action for the last few weeks. We miss her terribly - please pray for her recovery.
Our final block before the school holidays in June starts 18th May and hopefully if the weather is nice we will be able to do lots outdoors.
Please continue to pray for the team and for each family that come along.

Stepping Stones
We are now in our third week of the first Stepping Stones of the year. We have already heard about when Jesus told the fishermen to follow him and fishers of men. In Stepping Stones we had little boats made of of boxes! and for a prayer we wrote who we wanted to pray for on paper cut out fishes! The next week we were doctors and the teddys were not well! so we put plasters on them and looked after them!
We still have 4 more weeks left of this block of Stepping Stones. Please keep praying.

Deeper/Even Deeper
Deeper has started up again. Numbers are down but some young people are still on holiday. The leadership of Deeper had a meeting about what our role is in Deeper / Even Deeper, also what we thought God wanted for Deeper. So we asked the kids what subjects and food they wanted! They said they wanted to talk about sex/relationships, swearing, angels, death and after life.
Even Deeper starts on tuesday the 13th, Since it started we have struggled to find a format but this year we are going to study the Gospel of John
Footie and Faith - I know what your thinking another home group? but wait I am hoping to have Footie and Faith every other week, for a block of 6 sessions. What will hopefuly happen is half an hour of discussion about faith and an hour playing footie at the polysport.
Please pray for all these home groups
Thank you!!!!

Boulder Gang and Rock Solid Crew!!!
Happy 2009 to everyone from all of us at Boulder Gang and Rock Solid Crew! We had an amazing time on the lead up to Christmas learning about Jesus and the amazing things he did. On average we had approx 20 kids each week come along for mad messy games, amazing prizes, cool worship, crazy dancing and above all to experience more of God in a real way.
To cap it all off 22 kids came along to our fab Christmas party on 11th December with party games, yummy food and even a special visit from Santa Ste!
Special thanks again to our amazing helpers - Mary, Karen and Kerry! We love you!
Please pray for Boulder Gang and Rock Solid Crew - for each child to experience God in a life transforming way! Please pray for the leaders, Julie and Stephen, for wisdom and strength, to seek Gods will for the way forward.
Look out for dates of when the groups restart.......see you soon!!!!!!
Julie and Ste =) X

Stepping Stones
A Very Happy New Year from the Stepping Stones Team! We had an amazing time leading up to Christmas sharing the Christmas story with the little ones who come along. Numbers continue to grow and we are realle encouraged by positive feedback from parents too! The finale to a very busy and hectic block took place on 8th December with a special "Cre8 4 Christmas". The children had a great time making christmas candle holders, snowmen wooden spoons, snowstorms and windchimes. We had tasty christmas treats and told the christmas story with lots of actions and sound affects! For the Mums, an hour and a half of rest and relaxation with mulled wine, mince pies and beautiful beaded decorations to make! Some mums even chose to join with the kids session.
January, for the team, is a time for reflection and seeking Gods Will for the future of Stepping Stones. We have already had many enquiries as to when the group restarts and we really look forward to rejoining with the little ones to have great fun sharing Gods word and worshipping him! Please pray for Julie and Stephen as they plan the next session and look at new ways of encouraging unchurched families to explore with us a new way of being church. Please pray for each child who comes along, that they will meet with Jesus and know him as their saviour and friend.
